David Cowans
Company Chairman
David is the former Group Chief Executive of the Places for People Group, one of the largest housing, placemaking, property management and development companies in the UK. David has over 40 years’ experience of housing, urban regeneration, mixed-tenure and mixed-use development, property management and financial management, and of leading strategic change in large and small organisations.
David is an experienced Chief Executive, Chair, Advisor and Non-Executive Director who is one of the most influential figures in the housing industry.
David is a Fellow of the Institute of Housing, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Chartered Director of the Institute of Directors and has an MBA from Birmingham University. He is also an Academician of The Academy of Urbanism and a Policy Fellow at the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence.
John Dawson
Chief Executive Officer
John is the Chief Executive of MYSHON and co-founded the company.
John has 20 years’ experience in property management, having previously worked within multinational property services companies across a range of real estate sub-sectors and disciplines.
John is an expert in Specialist Supported Housing and Supported Housing, and has been at the forefront of defining and implementing positive change within these emerging Social Housing sub-sectors since 2017.
John lives in Harrogate, with Esther and their 4 boys!
Joe Mead
Chief Operating Officer
Joe is our Chief Operating Officer and looks after the day to day running of the operational business. Joe previously worked in the Facilities Management sector as COO for Operon managing a £60m international portfolio employing 1,200 staff via 6 divisional managing directors. After working with Capita Symonds in London, Joe invested in a fledgling building compliance business which was Ansor Environment quickly becoming the CEO. Joe built this into one of the largest independent compliance businesses in the UK delivering corporate built environment services across the UK to numerous leading companies.
Joe is married to Kate, resides in Cambridge and has 2 grown up daughters.

Harry McKeown
Managing Director
Harry is Myshon’s Managing Director and joined us in August 2024. Harry was previously the Managing Director of Forward Housing (part of Thera Trust), a charitable national provider of Specialised Supported Housing, where he has remained a non-executive Director. Prior to this, he worked for a variety of housing associations, charities, and alongside the Welsh Government in roles relating to Housing First, community safety, housing management, care, support, and rough-sleepers outreach.
Harry is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIHCM) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). He has a Post-Grad Certificate in Leadership and Management in Housing and Homelessness, a CIH Professional Diploma in Housing, and is studying a towards Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in his spare time. He is also the Chair of “Man&Boy” (a charity that supports men and boys to be positive role models and empowers them to reach their full potential) and regularly volunteers for the homelessness charity Crisis.
He is passionate about improving the quality of life and well-being of vulnerable people – and is highly motivated by the opportunities that Myshon can deliver for the people we house and support, as well as for our partners.
David Beanland
Operations Director
David joined MYSHON in 2018 and is our Mobilisation and Integration Director. He has developed National Supplier Networks and processes to deliver efficient cyclical and reactive maintenance services. He understands the importance of building strong relationships with clients to efficiently mobilise their portfolios and maximise performance.
He has 30 years’ experience in Property Management and has previously worked for Allsop Letting & Management and Touchstone. He has extensive knowledge of managing national property portfolios and knows what is required to deliver excellent management solutions.
David is a keen walker and has climbed the majority of the mountains in the Lake District. He also enjoys most sports along with travelling in the UK and further afield.
Sam Carson
Executive Director
Sam’s experience covers various sectors including finance and social & affordable housing.
Sam previously worked as a Portfolio and Investment Analyst at Morgan Stanley in their Los Angeles office before joining John and Martin across the First Alliance Housing/Myshon and 2-Work family of companies. Sam has a passion for placemaking and is the Group Director of SIRE Group, a purpose driven real estate group that designs, builds and delivers communities within the living and workspace sectors.
Sam is from the red side of Manchester and loves to be on the golf course!
Martin Corbett
Executive Director
Martin is a non-executive Director of MYSHON.
He is an investor across a number of tenancy management, furniture and fit out businesses with a combined turnover of over £100m per annum and employ circa 1,000 staff across the UK.
MYSHON fits into this family of companies with Martin providing Myshon with strategic advice, introductions and overseeing legal workstreams.
